Sadie Biopsy Results

Let me clear up some confusion … the first doctor that Sadie saw told me her inoperable tumor was an aggressive carcinoma & to just keep her comfortable …

I wasn’t satisfied with that prognosis & called a different vet for a second opinion. This 2nd vet is the one that said the tumor was a melanoma & suggested surgery & teeth cleaning.

This morning I received a phone call from the 2nd doctor with the biopsy results. She said it was indeed a melanoma, but had ‘good margins’ – which means there is no cancer in her blood or lymphatics. I am happy to report that this doctor said she was able to get ALL the cancer. Thanks so much for you prayers !! They worked !! Sadie sends her love. Except for her arthritis, Sadie has been very spunky !! And her teeth are actually cleaner & whiter than mine !! 🤣

The moral of this story … ALWAYS get a second opinion !!

Yesterday I treated Sadie to a trip to a pet store ! Sadie is slick when it comes to taking her antibiotics or any pill for that matter … I tried to hide them in her yogurt, she ate everything except the pills !! This park has around 8 dog wash stations, so guess what … Miss Sadie had a bath … she hates getting wet ! Enjoy the attached Sadie photos. 🐾💖

I Climbed Mount Dora 😂

A few weeks back, I visited Mount Dora on 2 separate occasions… the first time with Ann & Mary and a week later with Kim. Mount Dora is an eclectic, quaint town in Central FL … it has familiar similarities to New Hope, PA. This lakefront community is nestled in gentle hills & orange groves. It’s elevation of 184 feet makes it Florida’s highest community. The town certainly marketed that distinction with tons of items that read “I climbed Mount Dora … elevation 184 feet”.

Mount Dora is a laid back, relaxed town that caters to antique enthusiasts. It is filled with boutiques, galleries, outdoor cafes, a winery & bed/breakfast inns. Rich in history, the Lakeside Inn, overlooking Lake Dora opened in 1883. Our golf cart tour guide, Jake informed us that both Al Capone & Calvin Coolidge slept there. It is the oldest continuously operating hotel in Florida.

The town’s congregational church dates back to 1883 and is still in use. A controversial residential home was painted to replicate Van Gogh’s Starry Night. This mural assisted the owners autistic son so he could find his way home. There was a yearlong battle between the owner & the city, the owner won & the mayor apologized. Google it.

The town offers tons of shops to explore & plenty of diverse restaurants to choose from. The food was outstanding at both restaurants – The LakeSide Inn & The Goblin Market. Below are photos from both visits. Enjoy !

Disruptive Stone

🎼 Safelite Repair … FAIL … Safelite Replace 🎼 !!

Can’t believe I’ve driven my new truck over 5,000 miles without incident, then on Wed, a 1/2 mile from the campground, a stone attacked my windshield 😩.

The 1st tech ‘tried’ to repair the damage but, within hours, it grew from a 1 inch crack to an 18 inch crack. Today my Bertha is sporting a brand new windshield !! 😃 I received a bonus too … free wiper blades 👍 !!

He advised me to install a hood deflector … will that really help 🤷🏻‍♀️ ?

Sadie’s Surgery was a Success !

Sadie & I thank all our friends for your prayers !! The doctor cleaned her teeth (no teeth were extracted!) & removed the tumor. The tumor was sent out for a biopsy. We will know the results later next week. I will then let y’all know. The 1st photo was when she arrived home … she was still a little ‘high’ & very hungry !! I gave her some soft treats & Greek yogurt.

I debated on whether or not to attach a graphic photo of her tumor. I decided against attaching it. The grape sized tumor was hidden in the upper cheek gum part on the inside of her mouth almost near her eye. Sadie sends love & thanks everyone !! 💖🐾

Prayers For Sadie Please

Sorry that I have been absent from blogging, but, we are in dire need of your thoughts & prayers.

We just returned from a trip to a local veterinarian. There is no easy way to tell you this. Sadie has been diagnosed with non-operative oral squamous cell carcinoma. This diagnosis is in addition to her heart murmur, arthritis, enlarged liver, fibroid tumors & collapsing trachea.

The vets office said to let her do what she loves to do, keep her comfortable & enjoy the rest of our time together.

She is a happy girl who still loves to walk & eat & sniff !! And she still won’t go inside her taco bed !!

Please keep Sadie in your prayers !! 🙏🐾💖

Surprise Visitors !

Around lunch time I received a surprise text from my last Disney camping neighbors. Susie & Jeff were in the area visiting their friend, Norita and stopped by to visit me & Sadie ! Such a fun surprise from awesome folks !! Thanks guys !!

Pic 2 – My tiny house composting toilet is complicated to use, so, before they drove back to Disney, they all headed to the campground “comfort station” ! 🚽

Pic 3 – My campsite lot is huge !! So huge that I could have a block party, but remember, when nature calls, y’all gonna have to use the comfort station !! 😜

Pic 4 – Sadie’s reaction to riding a golf cart again. Priceless 🐾🤣 !!

Pic 5 – FYI … AT&T is not a reliable cell service when you’re campground hopping. I called customer service to complain, but, I wasted my breath & time. There’s nothing they can do if a cell tower isn’t close. Stay tuned, I may be switching to Verizon. 😡

Pic 6 – One of the locals here told me that this tree is over 425 years old 😳 Whoa !!

Campground Amenities and Golf Cart Paparazzi

There are plenty of wildlife here, thankfully no actual turkeys, just turkey buzzards by the hundreds 😳 ! Today I found out that boiled peanuts 🤢 & gator jerky 🤮 are popular snacks in these parts 🤷🏻‍♀️ ! No thanks.

This campground is filled with mature adults, and some VERY mature adults, but, guess what … I haven’t seen 1 child or teen in 2 days 👏 😃 !

This definitely isn’t Disney, however, Management does offer a wide array of activities, too numerous to individually name, so I attached a photo of the list.

Sadie adjusted very well to her new surroundings. She’s happy as long as she has something to sniff.

This afternoon I found out that on Saturday mornings they offer free coffee & donuts at the activities center. Well, this morning while they munched on Krispy Kremes, my tiny home was the hot topic, so immediately after the donut event was over, the golf cart paparazzi arrived 😂 on my lot. Of course they had a hundred questions, most of which I answer in my usual story telling way. In the past 24 hours I met at least a third of the 900+ residents.

I also met a really cute 10 week old beagle named Kaylee. She was a little spitfire !!

Farewell Disney

It’s been an awesome 4 months. I was at Disney for Halloween, Thanksgiving, my Birthday, Christmas & New Years ! A bucket dream fulfilled ! Time to move on !!

While in Orlando, I got to hang out with my awesome friends; Lori & Mike, Kim, Rob & Diane, Bill, Cindy & Jerry, and Mary & Ann.

I also experienced some of the best meals I’ve ever eaten !! Definitely will miss Colombia, the Boathouse, Anthony’s, Kilwins & Rocco’s Tacos !!

I met a lot of awesome campers as well !! My most recent neighbors (and now my newest friends) were Susie & Jeff. They are really cool, friendly people ! They helped me prepare my house this morning for my journey & Jeff even checked & filled my trailer tires. Thanks !!!! 😃 Thanks for the farewell driving away photos Susie !! Wishing you a very Happy birthday 🎂 tomorrow Jeff !!

I also said farewell to some great Fort Wilderness cast members … Aurelia, Jen, Kim, Zoe Renae & Bev. Thanks for being so helpful & nice to me !!

P.S. It was actually really cold here a few days ago !! They issued a falling iguana alert in Miami !! 😂

FYI in case you can’t reach me … The cell service here is annoyingly sporadic !!

Campground #18 !!

Thanks for all your safe traveling prayers !! About 3 hours ago, Sadie & I made it safely to our next destination !! This is a pretty cool place with extremely friendly folks that either live here or visit !! I had a lot of help getting my house set up !!

I am their first tiny house. I’ve had at least 50 visitors already !!

I will post my Farewell Disney blog later tonight !!
