We’re on the west side of the Catskills with minimal cell service outside & no service in the house. I will post a blog tomorrow night when we get to an RV campground located on the southern tip of the Adirondack Mts. In the meantime please enjoy last nights sunset & Sadie relaxing !!

I still can’t believe I’m doing this ! I am so blessed ! What a life ! We have driven just over 550 miles since we left Monday night. We just arrived at destination #2 … a beautiful campground at the tip of Seneca Lake in Watkins Glen which is a part of NY’s Finger Lakes region. It was a beautiful drive on RT 14. The air is filled with the aroma of wine grapes & cow manure. We passed at least 2 dozen wineries on RT 14. The lake is gorgeous (see pics). I hooked up the house then Sadie & I went across the highway to take a walk in the park & see the lake. So much to sniff in the park !! Poor Sadie had a near miss with 2 very aggressive large German Shepherds. It was the first time I ever heard Sadie growl ! She did not like them one bit ! So, we are relaxing now & I just ordered a pizza delivery ! Stay Tuned !! Donna & Sadie 💖🐾

After a very emotionally exhausting day on Monday which included my old house settlement & our send off !! Sadie & I finally found a truck stop 😳 to sleep at last night at 11pm !! Geez, truck stops are busy & very noisy, those dang air breaks !! Plus some truckers keep their trucks running all night for the a/c !! And of course, I was parked next to one !! But, thankfully no ‘lot lizards’ knocked on my door ! 😂 380 miles later, we made it to Niagara Falls around 2pm today. We found a very nice campground to rest at for the next 2 days ! I am becoming a pro at backing up too !! See, I told y’all I’d learn along the way !! Finally ate a decent meal & showered & enjoying a tiny bottle of Zinfandel ! Sadie is adjusting … She is very content as long as she has her Mommy, her favorite food & goes for walks !! She’s the best beagle !! 💖🐾

So, exactly how many friends do you need to hook up a tiny house to your truck ? More than a dozen !! 😂 That’s what happens when your trailer is too low for your truck hitch !! Smart cookies that they are, they did figure out how to remedy it, but that was after each of them lost around 5 lbs from sweating !! Special thanks to my dog squad friends & their spouses, their dogs, my friends & neighbors & the new owners of my old home ! What an awesome send off they gave us ! Complete with a beautiful prayer, a bag of Lori’s amazing homemade baked goods, and a BK gift card so I can enjoy my Impossible Burgers on the road !! Y’all made me ugly cry 😭 !! Thanks everyone !! Sadie & I have the best friends !! 😃💖

One last visit to say goodbye to my favorite premiere banker, Antoinette & my favorite financial advisor, Chris !! Thanks for taking such good care of me !!👍😃

Well, I know y’all have some concerns about me towing my tiny house, but, guess what … My first driving lesson went really well ! I towed a 27′ trailer with ease ! My truck Bertha, is bad ass !!!!

Special thanks to Wendy, Tony & J for making all the arrangements !! My instructor said I did great ! He also taught me how to use all the towing gadgets on my truck ‘cockpit’ !! I even towed the trailer over the skinny ‘hump bridge’ off of MLK Blvd !! 👏 I also did really well backing up, but, steering in the opposite direction will take some getting use to !! Practice, practice, practice !!

One more lesson this weekend, although I do feel confident about being able to tow the house now ! Y’all can relax !! 👍😃💖

My dream is now a reality as our departure is just a few days away. Soon Sadie & I will be traveling to new & exciting destinations seeing sights that I only ever dreamed of visiting. Since retiring on 1/1/19, I have been overwhelmed with cleaning out my home, selling, donating, giving away, recycling & trashing 42 years of ‘stuff’ as I prepared it for sale. Plus 4 months of driving back & forth to Lancaster to check on the progress of my tiny home. Soon I will be able to relax ( well, not while driving, 😳 but, when safely parked) ! Driving lessons begin tomorrow night ! Thanks Wendy ! 😘

The hardest part has been saying ‘see you later’ to old & new friends. Friendships that have meant the world to me !! Stores, restaurants & businesses that I frequent will soon be just a memory. As I run last minute errands, I am savoring the beautiful, familiar scenery. I am definitely ready for new experiences, it’s just hard when 2/3 of your life has been spent in the same area.

Everyone assures me I will make friends along the way, maybe I will … maybe I won’t. Guaranteed though, I will be cautious who I befriend, ( that is, until I research them on the internet) ! LMAO 🤣

No matter where I travel & no matter where I land, please know that you all will always be in my thoughts as you are all a very important part of my life !

My wish for each of you is that you stay healthy, that your life becomes all that you want it to be & that all your goals & dreams become a reality.
