Farewell Again …

Yesterday we bid farewell & safe travels to another set of awesome camping neighbors. Jeannie & Dave, her daughter Debbie & son-in-law from Northern California. We exchanged contact info because they are expecting us to visit them when we get to CA next year. Jeannie even bought me a Disney farewell gift (see pic) so I would remember them. We have met some awesome people during the past 3 1/2 months! It’s pretty cool to be able to say I have friends all across the country! #Blessed!

Sadie’s Shopping Spree

Today I finally was able to take Sadie on a Petco shopping spree with the gift card that we received as winners of the Liberation Tiny Home photo contest. Sadie will be happy to know that there’s enough money left on the card for 2 more visits!

Pic 4 – The clerk even helped fit her with a new red harness to match her Minnie collar.

Pic 7 – When your beagle is so hungry and can’t wait to eat breakfast that she walks to her bowl with her blankie still on her! 🀣

Pic 10 – Sadie’s first Maine Coon encounter. 😳

Christmas at the Fort

Campsite Christmas decorating has begun !!

Some sites are subdued, like mine, and others are way extravagant! With most sites being a 30 or 50 amp hookup, and with everything running inside the RV, I really don’t understand how it’s not a fire hazard to have all the blowups connected to numerous extension cords since each campsite comes equipped with only 2 additional outlets to plug into πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ’₯ And one of those outlets is usually used for the electric cart. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

P.S. The last 4 pics are the thousand $$ decorations from a single campsite 😳 ! Another question is where do they store all of it while traveling ? πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ FYI … The Mickey soldiers are at least 15 feet tall !!

P.S.S. The Fort has 799 campsites … I was told 286 campsites checked out today & 307 campsites checked in today with new guests. Mind you, each campsite is thoroughly cleaned by a cast member in between guests. It’s nonstop crazzzzy here !!!! Job security for sure !

Enjoy the attached photos !! πŸŽ„

Celebration Founders Day Carnival

Friday, part 2 …

While at the Tiny Living Festival, I asked one of the vendors to airbrush a wooden sign and title it “Home is Where We Park It”. See pic for where Kim found its forever spot in my tiny home.

We had some time to kill between adventures, so we headed to Trader Joe’s (my first ever visit to this grocery). They actually sell decent wine for $3 ! We made a few purchases then headed back to my house to feed & walk Sadie before heading to the Founders Day Carnival in Celebration. This carnival had a Jersey boardwalk theme.

We first stopped at the Celebration Tavern where we got a bite to eat. Our dinner was a delicious Cobb salad with grilled chicken and our favorite mango chutney dressing. πŸ˜‹ Then we wandered over to the festival where I won a baby stuffed tiger while playing a carnival game. πŸ˜‚ Then off to the stage where hundreds of Celebration residents & their invited guests sang & danced to the rock n roll harmonies of a tribute group, The Atlantic City Boys.

On the way home, Kim drove past a home fully loaded with the Christmas spirit which included holiday music.πŸŽ„

Another great day in sunny 🌞 Florida!!

Tiny 🏠 Living Festival

Friday, Kim & I had a 2 part adventure. This festival was part 1 …

Yesterday, Kim & I attended the United Tiny House Association’s “world’s largest” 3 day Tiny Living Festival on the grounds of the Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake in Orlando.

As we strolled the park, we saw tiny homes ranging from egg pods to Winnebagos to actual tiny houses to school buses.

Some of these tiny homes were built for weekend warriors and others, for long-term living. There was a plethora of diverse food trucks & vendors, selling unique, eclectic wares. The festival also offered numerous lectures on tiny living.

Honestly, the construction of 70% of the homes on display was subpar. Some homes were so small that anyone who was claustrophobic would definitely experience panic attacks. Only a couple homes impressed us (for example, see last photo & the 4th photo featuring Kim).

I went there with one burning question about finding tiny house communities in the U.S. One vendor was able to supply a website totally dedicated to tiny house community locations ! β˜‘οΈ This visit was a total success !!

Stay tuned for part 2!

Birthday Wishes and Sightseeing

This past Monday was a very big deal here at Disney. It was Mickey & Minnie’s 91st birthday!! Every cast member & guest that attended a park was given a special commemorative pin! Happy Birthday M&M!! A very nice camping neighbor gave me a pin. My friend Lori, who happens to be a cast member also received a Mickey cardboard cutout & balloon that now adorn her office.

Today Kim & I spent the day sightseeing. Our tour began at the Four Seasons Resort which is right next door to the FW Campground. The Four Seasons is a AAA five diamond resort nestled in a very secluded area between the campground & a high-end development called Golden Oaks. Meticulously groomed lush gardens, infinity water features & pillars of palms & cypress surround this incredible luxury resort.

We grabbed a coffee from the hotel’s coffee shop & continued on our self guided tour of the grounds which included 2 pools, a lazy river, recreation area & golf course.

We walked back to the car & headed to Disney Boardwalk where we toured the hotel lobby, saw an incredible gingerbread house & window shopped in the many stores that are located on the boardwalk. We continued walking & made our way to the Skyliner near Hollywood Studios. We boarded the aerial gondola & began our 60 foot high journey ‘flying’ 11mph over highways & the Swan & Dolphin, the Yacht Club, the Caribbean Beach & Riviera Resorts.

Just when I was used to sitting in a pod that was dangling from a wire, the ride ended. We walked back to the car & headed to Kim’s bungalow in my favorite town, Celebration. Her clutter less home is absolutely gorgeous & quintessential Florida with clean, crisp colors & sophisticated furnishings. Her home should be featured in a BH&G magazine! πŸ‘πŸ

We then headed into town where we enjoyed an awesome light lunch which consisted of yummy chicken noodle soup & a Chef’s salad with mango chutney dressing πŸ˜‹!

Between walking with Kim & Sadie, my grand step total today was just over 18,151 which equals almost 7 miles 😳!

Kim, thanks for an aerobically awesome day πŸ˜ƒ

Ref the video: When I arrived home, Sadie greeted me with a shredded plastic Disney bag. I have no idea where she found that bag??!!

Brrrr πŸ₯ΆπŸ˜‚

Geez, it’s really chilly in central FL !! πŸ₯ΆπŸ˜‚. I actually had to break out the spandex leggings, a hat & a hoodie !! Definitely feels like Christmas, so, I started decorating. Blowup Scooby Doo is now a member of the family. And a shoutout to Vicki for the awesome beagle stocking that I will stuff with lots of treats for Sadie. Thanks πŸ‘πŸΆπŸΎπŸ˜ƒ!

Sadie is enjoying these temperatures … it brings out her inner beagle puppy. She loves going for walks when it’s cooler. During the past week we walked 34 miles. We explored new campsite loops so Sadie could experience new sniffing spots. And a bonus today, Sadie had the dog park all to herself this morning. She thoroughly enjoyed sniffing every inch of the park without some annoying dog trying to sniff her butt 🀣 !!

These damn campground wild turkeys are very territorial and aggressive. One was sitting and also walking around my campsite patio this morning while I was trying to decorate. It would cackle & walk towards me, then it cornered me on my steps, so I went inside and watched from the window. For almost a 1/2 an hour it wouldn’t let me out of my house. I didn’t feel like getting mine or Sadie’s eyes pecked out, so I called security to help me shoo it away. πŸ˜¬πŸ¦ƒ These turkeys apparently don’t realize that Thanksgiving is less than 2 weeks away πŸ€” 🍽 πŸ— !! But, I’d rather have to deal with an aggressive turkey than any of the many nearby resident reptiles !!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend !! πŸ˜ƒπŸΆπŸΎπŸ’–
