Disney Springs and friends

Had a great afternoon with Kim, Rob & Diane ! Kim (another ex colleague) picked me up at my campsite where I showed her my tiny house & she met sweet Sadie. We then headed to Disney Springs where we met up with Rob & Diane.

We strolled through the shopping, restaurant & entertainment complex and toured the Christmas Tree Trail where we saw 27 trees each differently decorated and uniquely themed to popular Disney movies … as a bonus, it even snowed (see video) !! I hear the trail is spectacular at night when all the trees lights are glowing.

We then hopped on a boat and headed to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort where we toured the French Quarter & Riverside areas of the resort. At the resort, Kim mentioned how cool it is to see palm trees & poinsettias together ! Cool indeed !! As we were leaving … An alligator almost had me for lunch πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

During the boat ride back we were able to catch a glimpse of a few of Disney’s TreeTop Villas ! πŸ‘ We watched as an aqua car cruised by our boat 😳 ! We then capped off the day with an enjoyable late lunch at Longhorn.

Kim, Rob & Diane … Thanks for a great day !! πŸ˜ƒ

World Kindness Day

I am beyond ecstatic !! I was just informed I WON an Ellen DeGeneres Be Kind box in honor of World Kindness Day!! (attached is a pic of an example)

This box is a quarterly subscription that encourages the recipients to spread kindness & pay it forward. Inside the box are fun & exciting products that Ellen enjoys. Also the brands & products inside the box are all doing something to encourage kindness in the world.

The proceeds from the boxes are donated to different charities. This autumn box supports the ASPCA & rescue animals (like Sadie) across the country in honor of National Adopt A Rescue Dog Month!

It’s an all around kind box & I can’t wait to see what’s inside !! Merry Christmas & Happy Birthday to me !! πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒπŸ’–

Brrrrr πŸ₯ΆπŸ€£

1st pic – This morning as I headed off to Walmart to buy Christmas decor for the exterior of my home, the temp was 62 degrees & no humidity. Sadie & I both loved walking in that temperature this morning! I wore a hooded sweatshirt & shorts. But, as I walked through the Walmart parking lot & the store, I saw folks wearing down winter coats !! Apparently they were very cold πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ!

2nd pic – The registration building of the campground is in full Christmas festive mode!

3rd pic – Loving this 8 seat golf cart ! 😍

4th pic – Sadie loves afternoon naps ! 😴

5th pic – I am so excited that there’s an Anthony Coal Fired Pizza restaurant in Orlando! They have the BEST meatballs & sauce !! I should know … I’m an Italian meatball & sauce snob !! Although I probably went a little overboard ordering food!! I plan to freeze the meatballs for future sandwiches.

6th & 7th pics – There are E-Bikes πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ aplenty here!

8th pic – A homemade ‘tiny house’ 😳 arrived in an adjacent loop. It has a tarp roof. Not sure what they’re doing for electricity, water & sewer since it’s not hooked up to anything ? πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

9th pic – Neighbor kids giving Sadie some lovin’ !!

10th pic – Jen & Renea are awesome cast members serving up delicious comfort food to hungry camping guests ! They always greet everyone with big smiles! Bravo ladies πŸ‘ !!

11th pic – FL full moon 2 nights ago.

Stay tuned for more adventures when I meet up with Rob, Diane & Kim!!

Farewell to Barb and Dave

This morning Sadie & I said farewell to another very nice & helpful camping neighbors, Barb & Dave. They’re headed home for the holidays, but will return when we will be leaving.

Sadie & I really enjoyed being their neighbors. Barb treated Sadie to some yummy bacon & Dave even took Sadie for a walk.

Grateful that they hooked me up with a much more affordable golf cart connection. Now Sadie can again enjoy riding on the front seat & letting the wind flap her beagle ears!

Wishing you both a very safe journey!!

Bill

Orlando and Disney are definitely the places to be because eventually you will see people you know. So far since I’ve been here I’ve met up with 8 friends from my previous employer! It’s very comforting to see familiar faces.

This afternoon I met up with a very dear friend and ex colleague, Bill, who just happened to be in Orlando for a business conference.

We toured the campground & the campsite where my tiny house is parked and stopped by my house where Sadie greeted us in her usual sweet way.

I showed Bill my e-bike and asked him if he wanted to ride it … of course he took it for a spin! When he returned from the ride he texted his wife Denise that he would like if Santa surprised him with an electric bicycle for Christmas. Her response was only if Santa surprises her with one too !! πŸ˜‚

We drove back to the hotel & sat near the bar overlooking a gorgeous pool where we chatted & shared photos over cocktails & hors d’oeuvres, before he headed off to dinner with some conference associates.

Thanks Bill for taking time out of your very busy schedule to visit with me this afternoon !! I look forward to seeing you & Denise in the future at another destination on my journey!

And … I hope Santa πŸŽ… surprises you both with E-Bikes πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ!!

Sweet Silly Sadie

While on the phone with my friend Ann Coldren, I was telling her that when I go upstairs to the loft, Sadie loses me !! She doesn’t understand where I go !! I decided to tape it.

This 2 minute video is too hysterical not to share with y’all !! It will make you laugh out loud !! Enjoy !!

Fireworks πŸ’₯ and a Camping Neighbor Farewell

While walking Sadie today, someone told me that the amount of money that Disney makes selling bottled water on any given day at one of its parks, is enough to pay for the fireworks at Magic Kingdom for an entire week! πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ I don’t know how true that statement is, but, it did come from a reliable source. Bottled water is $3.50 – you do the math.

Now, let’s talk about these fireworks … we came home today to find the attached note on the picnic table. Tonight they started setting off fireworks at 6:45, then again at 7:45, and again at 9:00, but this time instead of being the usual 15 minutes long, the 9:00 show was 21 minutes long. The note states they’ll be setting them off until 12:45am tonight & tomorrow night !!!! 😳Good thing I can sleep in tomorrow.

I am sad to have to say farewell to a really friendly camping couple, Gwen & David, as they head home tomorrow. They’ve been awesome, helpful neighbors! I wish them a safe journey.

Friday Night Fun at Epcot

Prior to meeting up with a group of ex-colleagues for a night out at Epcot, Lori picked me up and we headed to my favorite town, Celebration! We enjoyed a delicious outdoor late lunch at the Celebration Tavern. Honestly, if I didn’t have my tiny house, I would consider settling in Celebration. Another ex colleague, Kim, lives there approx 9 months out of the year & she loves it !

Then Lori & I headed to Epcot, where we met up with Rob, Diane, Mike, Chris, Mark & Steve. We toasted the evening with some Shiraz in Africa, then headed to the ‘Eat to the Beat’ concert stage to enjoy a Philly 80’s rock band called The Hooters. What was even more impressive was that Christine knew every word to every song!

BUT, the highlight of the evening was when Chris & I got to hug & kiss Donald Duck !!

Dave the Bike Man

Say hi to Dave! He is the BEST bicycle mechanic in central FL !!

Yesterday I posted a pic of the ripped open box that my bike arrived in. The package was missing a couple items & had some fixable damage that occurred via Amazon / FedEx transport. I am in email discussions with them ref finding a reasonable solution to these issues. And there WILL be a resolution, cuz y’all know that I can be a pit bull when necessary. πŸ‘πŸ€£

The bike arrived 85% assembled. Dave did the other 15% plus he did a visual/physical inspection & assured me that the bike was safe to ride.

Well, this foldable E-bike is AWESOME! It’s really lightweight when the battery is removed & it can reach a speed of 20mph! 😳 That’s faster than Disney’s golf carts!!

WOO-HOO … Mama had some riding fun this afternoon! Now, I just need to purchase a cart to attach to the rear so I can tote Sadie around. I am sure she will enjoy tagging along.

Last pic – During one of our many walks today, Sadie met another adorable pooch! Sadie is such a social butterfly!! πŸ˜‚πŸΆπŸΎ

Hodge Podge

Pic1 – Check out this rig that they use to pull a 35′ gooseneck & it’s carrying a small vehicle on its back! It’s unbelievable the amount of money ($millions$) parked in this campground between the towing vehicles, the coaches, the extra vehicles, the personal golf carts & the RV’s !!

Pic2 – Sadie prefers to watch the pups in the park from the outside not inside! πŸ˜‚

Pic3 – Pretty blue heron sitting on a danger sign. These signs are everywhere! Even behind my house! 😳

Pic4 – The campground HoopDeDoo Restaurant

Pic5 – Should I tell those turkeys in my yard that Thanksgiving is just 3 weeks away ? πŸ˜‚

Pic6 – My electric bike arrived today in a damaged open box. Hmmm … (gazing into crystal ball) … I see a credit in my future!

Video – Gotta love sweet Sadie !! 🐢🐾

Pic7 – Y’all are in for a major arctic plunge next week … Looks like FL may get a little chilly too!
